Dennco Announces Internal Blockchain R&D Lab

Research. Develop. Transform.

Sault Ste. Marie, MI — Building on the successful launch of Dennco Blockchain, Dennco Holding Company, LLC has announced the formation of a dedicated Blockchain Research & Development Lab, a new internal division focused on advancing secure ledger systems, tokenized access technologies, and next-generation digital infrastructure solutions.

The lab will operate under Dennco Information Systems and will serve as a hub for innovation, experimentation, and cross-departmental collaboration. This strategic expansion signals Dennco’s commitment to integrating blockchain into the core of its enterprise operations and future data center initiatives.

Innovating the Future of Digital Infrastructure

The Blockchain R&D Lab will initially focus on three primary development tracks:

  • Identity & Access Tokens:
Creating blockchain-secured authentication systems for enterprise use, designed to replace traditional passwords and strengthen system integrity.
  • Compute Credit Tokenization:
Exploring a utility-based token system to manage and track compute usage across Dennco’s emerging modular data center pods.
  • Smart-Contract Auditing & Automation:
Designing intelligent workflows that increase transparency, reduce manual oversight, and enhance compliance across Dennco’s service ecosystem.

“This is another major step toward building the digital infrastructure of tomorrow,” said Dustin L. Bayn, CEO of Dennco Holding Company. “Our R&D Lab will help us push boundaries, test new ideas, and integrate blockchain into all corners of our enterprise.”

Supporting Dennco’s Data Center Vision

As Dennco prepares for its modular octagonal data center deployment, the Blockchain R&D Lab will serve as a key engine for innovation within the broader infrastructure plan. The lab’s work will support mission-critical functions, including:

  •  Secure pod-to-pod communication
  • Immutable operational logging
  • Distributed system monitoring
  • Compliance-grade data verification

These capabilities are expected to strengthen the company’s long-term mission to expand enterprise technology across Northern Michigan and beyond.

Collaborative & Forward-Looking

The lab will collaborate with internal teams, strategic partners, and external developers interested in secure digital systems. Dennco plans to incorporate findings from the lab into future iterations of its hosting, telecom, and managed IT service offerings.

“This isn’t just about blockchain,” Bayn added. “It’s about building resilient, modernized infrastructure that creates opportunity for our region and our clients.”

The Blockchain Research & Development Lab begins operation this quarter, with initial prototypes and systems testing scheduled for early 2026.
